Dr. Evelyn M. Cohen (Ph.D. Columbia University) is an art historian who specializes in illuminated Hebrew manuscripts and Italian Renaissance art. A former Samuel H. Kress Fellow and Coleman Fellow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she has served on the faculty of Columbia University, Brooklyn College, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she was also the first Curator of Jewish Art. A widely published author, she is the recipient of the National Jewish Book Award.

Dr Emile G.L. Schrijver

Curator of the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana

Dr Emile G.L. Schrijver (1962) is curator of the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana, the Jewish special collection at the University of Amsterdam. He is also one of the curators of the private Braginsky Collection of Hebrew Manuscripts and Printed Books in Zurich, Switzerland and he is the interim-curator of Ets Haim/Livraria Montezinos in the Portuguese Synagogue in Amsterdam. He is an expert of post‐medieval Hebrew manuscripts and printed books on which he has published and lectured extensively in Europe, Israel and North America. He has written a number of introductions to facsimile editions of Hebrew manuscripts and has published numerous auction and exhibition catalogues. He is the executive editor of an Encyclopedia of Jewish Book Culture, which will be published by Brill Publishers of Leiden and Boston in 2018, as well as the editor-in-chief of the annual Studia Rosenthaliana, published by Peeters Publishers of Louvain, Belgium. He serves on boards and advisory committees of numerous Jewish cultural organizations in- and outside the Netherlands.
